Legalization of Academic Transcript

This document belongs to group II or III (when the education is in the medical or technical field).

Document issued in Bulgaria

1. Requirements for the document's format:

1.1. Outgoing number and date must be included; the country for which the document is intended must be specified; the Bulgarian grading system must be described; no corrections or abbreviations are allowed; a binding stamp from the issuing university must be placed across the pages and/or on the back of the document.

1.2. It can be legalized in its original form or as a certified copy (the original is submitted for reference).

1.3. In case of completed higher education, the diploma must be submitted for reference.

2. Steps for legalization of the document and fees:

2.1. Company fee for translation of the document.

2.2. State fee for the National Center for Information and Documentation (NACID).

2.3. Company fee for submitting the document to the National Center for Information and Documentation.

2.4. State fee for the "Consular Relations" Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2.5. Company fee for submitting the document to the "Consular Relations" Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Deadline for executing the order:

Translation – 48 hours (standard order); 24 hours (quick order); same-day (express order).

National Center for Information and Documentation (NACID):

- Standard order – 6 business days

- Quick order – 3 business days

- Express order – 2 business days

- Standard order – 4 business days

- Quick order – 2 business days

- Express order – 1 business day

Document issued in a foreign country

1. Requirements for the document's format:

1.1. Must have an apostille from countries that are members of the Hague Convention (see question "Which countries are members of the Hague Convention?").

1.2. In cases where the document comes from a country that is not a member of the Hague Convention and has no bilateral agreement with Bulgaria, it must be issued as an original and must bear the original stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the corresponding country, and a stamp from the Bulgarian embassy in the same country.

1.3. For countries such as North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, etc., with which Bulgaria has bilateral agreements, the document may be legalized without an apostille (see question "List of countries with which Bulgaria has signed bilateral agreements").
