A written translation is charged according to the translated text—the completed content in the target language. The source document is used for the initial review and quotation, but the final volume is established after the translation has been completed. The number of physical sheets or visible pages in the original is not the basis for this calculation.
One translation page contains 1,800 characters including spaces. Text in different languages may be shorter or longer than the original because of grammar, terminology, names and customary expression. Calculating the completed translation links the price to the text actually delivered, regardless of the source document's font, margins or layout.
Before work begins, La Fit Trans reviews the document and states an estimated volume, price and delivery time. An editable source usually permits a more precise estimate; with scans, tables or difficult-to-recognise content, the final character count is confirmed from the completed translation. Any difference between the estimate and the final volume reflects the actual length of the target-language text.
The final volume is determined by counting characters including spaces in the translated file. Layout work, signature certification, notarisation, Apostille, legalisation, paper copies and delivery are not automatically included in the translation-page count.
