Differences between the electronic apostille and the electronic registry:
- Electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) - the possibility to apply for an electronic and/or physical apostille, pay for and obtain an electronic apostille, and review an apostille that has already been issued;
- electronic registry (e-Register) - only offers a reference of an already issued apostille (by the unique apostille number).
In Bulgaria, an electronic register of issued apostilles is maintained by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of 15.06.2020. In addition to the electronic register, the National Center for Information and Documentation also provides an electronic apostille program.
