Document Issued in a Foreign Country

1. Document Formatting Requirements

1.1. Must bear an apostille if issued in a country that is a member of the Hague Convention (see: “Which countries are members of the Hague Convention?”).

1.2. If issued in a country that is not a Hague Convention member and has no bilateral agreement with Bulgaria, the document must be an original with the original stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country and a seal from the Embassy of Bulgaria in the same country.

1.3. For North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, and other countries with which Bulgaria has bilateral agreements, legalization without apostille is permitted (see: “List of countries with which Bulgaria has signed bilateral agreements”).
