Translation of a certified extract from the Bulgarian State Gazette

The Bulgarian State Gazette is the official journal of the Republic of Bulgaria. A certified extract may reproduce an entire legislative act or notice, selected articles and paragraphs, a decision, a company announcement, a court notice or another item from a precisely identified issue.

It serves a different purpose from a certificate issued later by an administration and from an informal printout of online text. For a foreign recipient, both the published content and its connection to the issue, date, page and certification of the copy can be material.

The source normally displays the journal heading, issue number and date, official or unofficial section, page, material heading and the authority or person responsible for the publication. A partial extract also marks the opening and closing text, omitted passages and certification of the copy.

A foreign recipient may require a certified copy of the official publication, a certified translation or additional authentication of the Bulgarian source. The appropriate file depends on the authority that certified the copy, the destination country and the rules of the receiving institution.

A colour scan or clear images of all pages reveal whether the material is complete and whether the issue number, date, page, heading, text and certification particulars are legible. An extract also needs enough context around its beginning and end.
