Translation of a supplement to a secondary education diploma

The diploma certifies completion of secondary education and the rights it confers; the supplement expands on the learning behind that qualification. Depending on the form and year of issue, it may list subjects, annual or final grades, total study hours, specialised or vocational training, state matriculation examinations and the overall result.

When both documents are submitted together, the translation preserves their shared names, registration numbers, dates, school name and programme data. A foreign recipient can therefore see both the qualification awarded and the specific learning outcomes recorded by the school.

Rows may distinguish general, extended, specialised, vocational or other school preparation. Subject and module names, classes, numbers of school hours, grades in words and figures, overall results and matriculation examination results are translated without breaking the relationship between the columns.

The grading scale is not converted at the translator’s discretion. Bulgarian grades remain as certified, with an explanation of the six-point scale only when the translation format or recipient requires it. Stamps, signatures, series, registration numbers and official notes remain clearly separate from translator annotations.

Profile, specialisation, occupation, qualification, mode of study and subject names are reviewed in the context of the complete file. The same subject is not rendered differently on separate pages, while abbreviations and recurring headings are used consistently.

The table layout preserves which grade and number of hours belong to each subject. Unclear entries, corrections and blank fields are represented accurately; the translation neither invents missing grades nor performs academic equivalence on behalf of the receiving institution.

A university or authority may accept a translation from a legible copy, a certified copy, a translator-certified version or a file with further authentication. Diploma and supplement are usually reviewed as related documents, but the required form is set by the destination country and recipient.

A short supplement with a clear table can be completed sooner than a multi-page document containing many subjects, vocational modules, different grade types and continued columns. Alignment with an existing diploma translation or other educational records also forms part of final control.

Translation and independent revision have a different timetable from notarisation, apostille or institutional processing. For a combined service, the schedule distinguishes completion of the language work from collection of the final certified file.

Legible images of every page, including reverse sides, continuations, stamps and signatures, reveal the actual scope. A copy of the diploma helps keep the holder’s name, school, number, date, profile and qualification identical across both documents.

The remote assessment covers the language, pages, table complexity, required certification and deadline. The physical original enters the process only when the selected certification or receiving institution requires it.
