A Bulgarian marital status certificate is issued from the population register to show whether a person is single, married, divorced or widowed. Some issued forms also contain information about a spouse and children, so our work follows the actual certificate rather than relying on its title alone.

What does the certificate establish?

Its principal purpose is to certify the holder's marital status at the time of issue. The fields may vary with the municipal service requested and the intended use. Before translation, we establish whether the supplied form contains only the status or additional family information that must also be reproduced accurately.

Which details do we check before translation?

We verify names, personal number or date of birth, address details, recorded status, document date and reference, and the issuing authority. We also inspect the signature, stamp, electronic signature or verification code, together with every note and attachment forming part of the certificate.

How is it different from other family documents?

A marital status certificate is not a marriage certificate, certificate of heirs or certificate of spouse and kinship relations. Bulgaria also uses a separate form covering marital status, spouse and children. The receiving authority should identify the record it accepts; similar names do not make the documents interchangeable.

What should I send for a quotation?

Customers send a legible image of every page and reverse side or the original electronic file. Customers state the destination country, language, receiving authority and purpose. Customers add any written instructions concerning an acceptable issue date, authentication, format, number of copies or submission method so the quotation reflects the real case.

Is an apostille always required?

No. An apostille or another public authentication depends on the destination, any applicable international agreement and the specific recipient's rules. When an apostille regime applies to a Bulgarian municipal certificate, the competent regional administration issues it. We do not add that procedure automatically to every order.

How is a foreign certificate prepared for Bulgaria?

We first identify its country, issuer and precise legal function. We then determine the applicable authentication route and the proper form of Bulgarian translation. A foreign certificate with a comparable title may contain different fields, so assessment is based on the complete source and the Bulgarian recipient's requirements.

How are names and marital status rendered?

Names are kept consistent with the source and available official transliteration, without arbitrary changes or abbreviations. The marital status is expressed with an appropriate legal and administrative equivalent. If supporting records conflict, we raise the discrepancy before final formatting instead of concealing it in the translation.

How do I receive a price, timeframe and finished document?

After review, we calculate price and timing from the language, volume, authentication, copies and delivery method. You may order online or visit a selected office. The proposal is specific to your certificate and does not include procedures that the receiving authority has not required.
