How the four document groups work
Groups I–IV are La Fit Trans’s internal way of assessing document structure, terminology and layout so that the work and quotation can be defined clearly.

The classification of documents for written translation by groups allows La Fit Trans to assess the nature of the material before preparing a quotation. Groups I–IV are not language categories and do not indicate a document’s legal importance. They describe how standardised its structure is, how much free text it contains, the density of its terminology and the work required to reproduce tables, stamps, annexes and cross-references.
Group I usually covers short civil-status records and certificates with established fields and limited free text. Group II covers more richly structured academic, qualification, employment and administrative records containing a greater number of titles, data sequences, grades, positions or registration particulars. The distinction between the two groups follows the actual volume and construction of the particular document rather than its title alone.
Group III is used for contractual, corporate, judicial, tax and accounting material with connected clauses, legal concepts, figures and internal references. Group IV covers material with dense professional terminology, such as specialised legal, medical, technical, scientific or financial texts. For these documents, the choice of translator and editor reflects the exact subject field and the need to keep terminology consistent throughout the complete set.
The same general document name does not always lead to the same group. A short certificate may be standard, while its foreign equivalent can contain several annexes, handwritten entries or complex tables. A contract may likewise be a brief standard form or an extensive specialist instrument. The final assessment therefore follows the legible file, language direction, repetitions, layout, deadline and intended use of the translation.
Within a mixed document set, each file may have its own group without the order being divided artificially. The combined quotation reflects relationships between the materials, recurring data and the opportunity to check names, dates and terms consistently. Classification therefore also supports editorial control rather than serving solely as a pricing device.
The group provides a basis for a transparent quotation, but it does not automatically include certification, Apostille, legalisation, notarisation, official fees or delivery. Where such services are required, they are identified separately.
