A Bulgarian certificate of current address shows the address entered for a person in the population register on the issue date. It may be requested for residence, employment, education, social, banking or other administrative matters abroad. The translation must distinguish the type of address and accurately reproduce the personal data, issuing authority and every official annotation.
## What does a current address establish?
A current address is the address at which a person lives at the relevant time and which has been declared under the civil-registration procedure. The certificate reproduces the entry in the population register. It does not itself prove ownership or tenancy, tax residence, nationality or actual residence throughout a particular period unless the recipient gives it that effect under its own rules.
## How does it differ from a permanent-address certificate?
Permanent and current addresses are separate registration details and may differ. The translation therefore does not substitute one term for the other or use a vague address-record label when the certificate identifies a specific address type. If both certificates form part of a file, we keep their wording consistent while presenting each as a separate document.
## Who issues the certificate and how is it requested?
Certificates based on the Bulgarian population register are issued by municipal administrations. Depending on the service and application channel, a request may be made by the person concerned, a legal representative or an expressly authorized person. The issuing administration confirms the supporting documents, fee, processing time and delivery method; these details are not assumed to be identical for every municipality.
## Which details do we check before translation?
We check the person's names and identifiers, the complete address, issue date, reference number, stated basis, issuing authority, signature, seal and any electronic-signature or verification note. Every page and attachment is required. An illegible field or a spelling that differs from the passport or accompanying records is clarified before the translated version is prepared.
## How are names and the address translated?
Names are compared with the passport or other identity document that will accompany the certificate. The address is rendered so that the country, locality, street, number, entrance and other components remain recognizable without changing their administrative meaning. Where useful, the original Bulgarian spelling can be retained beside the translation to support verification by the recipient.
## Are an apostille and certified translation always required?
No. Requirements depend on the destination, applicable international rules, recipient and document format. For certain public documents exchanged within the European Union, an apostille-free regime may apply and a multilingual standard form may be available. Other uses may require an apostille, certified translation or additional consular handling. We check the specific purpose before the order is confirmed.
## Can an electronic certificate or copy be used?
That depends on whether the recipient can verify the electronic signature, validation code or other authentication method. For translation we need the entire document, including the electronic-signature page or verification instructions. A copy may be sufficient for a quotation, while an original or official electronic file may still be required for certification and final submission.
## How are the price and delivery time determined?
