Translation and legalisation are not the same service, and not every document goes through every possible step. A standard translation may be sufficient in one case, while another may require a certified translation, apostille, prior authentication or consular legalisation. The applicable route depends on the country of issue, country of use, document type and requirements of the receiving authority.
