A job description is an employer-issued document defining the position’s place in the organisation, principal duties, responsibilities, reporting line and requirements for education or experience. It commonly identifies the employer, role and department and includes a classification code, date, signatures and acknowledgement of receipt. The translation should therefore cover the entire document, not only the list of tasks.
A translated job description may support an employment application, evidence of professional experience, qualification recognition, an immigration procedure, an employment dispute or an internal transfer. The receiving organisation decides whether it also needs an employment contract, employer certificate, social-security record or diploma.
